Mothering Emma Kate and Jack…

Bathtime, books, and ballet camp

Emma Kate is attending Twinkle Toes ballet camp this week. I am so proud of her in that she didn’t hesitate to be dropped off with two strange (they’re not odd, just new to her) instructors and 26 other little girls. She has enjoyed riding to camp and participating with her neighbor and friend, Danielle (see picture of Emma and Danielle below).

Today was one of those days where I would quit if this was a paying job and quitting was an option! If something (or a small someone) could drive me crazy, it did.

Examples of my good mothering experiences today:

  • As we were rushing out the door for ballet camp, Jack turned the sprinkler on me
  • Later, I couldn’t find Jack and realized he had escaped out the front door
  • And, while on the phone with my mom today, Jack decided to dump conditioner on himself and into the bathtub
  • As for Emma Kate, she and I struggled all day with who is the mother and who is the child

On a positive note, Emma read several beginning reader books to me today, Jack played lots of toddler computer games, and tomorrow is Friday!!

Check out these cute pictures from earlier this week:

Emma is teaching Jack how to play a Mickey Mouse toddler computer game (or “pooter game” as Jack says).
