Mothering Emma Kate and Jack…

Fiction parade at CCS

Emma Kate’s school had a fiction parade this morning. Her class dressed as characters from various fairy tales. Emma Kate went as Little Red Riding Hood (minus the red hood which remained in her basket!).

Saturday night Spooktacular!

We had so much fun tonight! We took the kids to the Spooktacular event at North Meck park, where we rode a GIANT slide, played games, had a Halloween egg hunt, and rode the carousel. Like last year, we met up with pals Kathy, Andy, Juliana, and Isabella. We also saw Savannah and dad Eric, [...]

First Kindergarten performance

Emma Kate participated in her first kindergarten performance this morning! She sang songs (really hip musical versions of familiar fairy tales) and acted the part of the “straw house” in the performance of the Three Little Pigs. It was fun to watch her with friends and taking part in a class activity. Chris took the [...]

Pumpkin patch

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful. We celebrated fall by heading to the pumpkin patch at Carrigan Farms for a hayride and some pumpkin picking. We toured the patch with Jo, Ed, and Fletcher; Evelyn and Nickolas; and Danielle. We all had a wonderful time; for me, it finally feels like the beginning of fall! Danielle (of [...]

High School Musical!

Last night, Emma Kate had a few friends over to watch High School Musical 2. It was so cute… the girls watched the movie, sang the movie songs, danced, and ate popcorn.

And today, Emma Kate and I went to see High School Musical: The Ice Tour. It was fabulous (as Sharpay would say)! The ice [...]

Celebrating Granny’s birthday

Last night, Charlie and Mary invited us to their house to celebrate Granny’s birthday. We enjoyed spending time with everyone (Phillip, Beth, and Patrick- we missed you guys!), and the kids had a big time (and lots of cake!).

Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to spend time with Grammy and Annie while [...]

Miss Evelyn and Nickolas visit

Today, Jack and I enjoyed a visit with Evelyn and Nickolas. The boys enjoyed playing inside and out; despite the lack of nap for both, they played well and maintained good spirits into the early afternoon. We look forward to playing again soon!

Playdate pals

Jack had a playdate this morning with his friend, Aidan. The boys were so cute playing… they carried on little conversations and actually played together. We fully anticipated that they would simply engage in parallel (side-by-side) play. Each day I am amazed at how quickly my kids are growing.
