We enjoyed a fun Thanksgiving day with Chris’ dad and family. It was great to spend time with everyone, and it was nice to see Granny and Chris’ aunts and their families. Mary was a wonderful hostess, and we enjoyed catching up with everyone. The kids had lots of fun playing outside with Phillip, Beth, and Patrick. Emma Kate and Jack concluded our visit with a joint performance of songs from High School Musical.

The day after Thanksgiving, we spent the day with my family in Wilkes. It was nice to just hang out with my parents, Malinda and Josh, and Granddaddy Jack and Ora Lee. Emma and Jack found out how much fun it is to jump in the leaves (something we don’t have at our house!). It’s funny… leaf-jumping, which was just a seasonal part of my childhood, is an event to my kids!
While we had “big” Jack and “little” Jack together, we decided to dress little Jack in clothes worn by Granddaddy Jack when he was small. My mom has a wonderful framed photo of Granddaddy Jack in this outfit (a photo that might “accidentally” find its way to my house!). This little outfit was likely made by my great-grandmother, Mother Pearl, and is over 80 years old!
