Today was Emma Kate’s last day of Kindergarten. The ONLY reason I am not weepy is because her wonderful school practices looping- which means she will be with the same teachers, in the same classroom, and with the same friends for 1st grade. This afternoon, EK and I sat together and read through the collection of stories she wrote this year in writer’s workshop. The growth she has made is amazing. I am so proud of my little one- she can read, write, calculate, and most importantly, Emma has a wonderful inquisitive nature and enthusiasm for learning.
EK the first day of Kindergarten and… EK the last day of Kindergarten!
Wednesday, Emma Kate’s class put on a performance in the black box theater at her school. The kids did such a fantastic job recalling their lines and performing their parts clearly and loudly.
A few pictures from the performance:

This post made me very emotional. It has taken me this long to comment because I couldn’t seem to gather my words. But here goes: We are so proud of Emma Kate and her success in school and life. Looking at her 1st day and last day of school pics makes us realize how fast kids grow and change and how they are children for so short an amount a time and reminds me to cherish all the children that I am fortunate enough to have in my life, including EK. With lots of love.
